It is late afternoon and tide has now gone out far enough to be able to see a whole other world of lively sea creatures. Teeny tiny crabs and dark coloured clams, muscle-y mussels, rough shelled oysters and tenacious barnacles appear here, there and everywhere. Hidden within rocks and boulders are massive clusters of violet sea stars all nestled tightly in what looks like an intimate family gathering. Feasting fully in the moment, they snuggle closely together in the great peace and calmness of their ocean sanctuary.
Several feet away, a few small plum coloured and violet sea stars lounge independently along the sea shore. Mirroring tiny stars in the sky that twinkle in magical ways, each dance gracefully and ever so slowly across the sand soaking up the bright light of the afternoon sun as they swirl and curl their arms to the rhythm of their own beat! One is tenderly clapping, another is bowing. One is soaking in the freshness of the ocean while the violet one is the superstar of the sandy stage with its zippedy-doo-dahh movements across the shoreline! Mistress Violet is the wondrous star here who mirrors dazzling stars in the night sky!
“Zippedy doo-dahh, zippedy day … my oh my what a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshine, plenty of play … we’re all dancing in our own special way!” Be the grounded sea star dancing in the light of the sun! Become one with natures energies surrounding you and dance in unison with the rhythm of your heart. And then, observe yourself being one with the great symphony of life!
“For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it’s always ourselves we find in the sea.” – E.E. Cummings
